New Office Procedures

KEEPING YOUR FAMILY SAFE DURING COVID

Children's health is always our first priority, so we are open and ready to serve your Family's needs. Our staff are committed to your family, so we have some new safety procedures in place to protect our staff and patients.

We are making changes to our office structure and we are confident that these precautions are sufficient in making the office safe for you and our staff. We know things are different, but it also our goal to try to help the children feel safe, and welcomed so we have put a lot of thought into our procedures and routines with that in mind. With each step we assume that any patient may be contagious because reliably defining who is at risk to spread is not possible right now. This leaves a lot less room for error,  and allows a safe environment for all our families.

THE STEPS WE’RE TAKING

1.   Our waiting room and exam rooms have had their toys removed, so be sure to bring entertainment for your children, and we suggest leaving siblings who are not being seen home if possible.

2.   We have a separate entrance and set of exam rooms for sick children to limit exposure to the well child areas. Social distancing and summer has greatly reduced our traffic of sick visits, so most of our visits are for routine care, and chronic illness management.

3.  All of our staff are wearing masks, cleaning surfaces more often, and wearing gowns for procedures with close contact. This is for your protection.

4.   We are asking all our families to wear masks while in the office, this is for the protection of our staff and other patients. We are aware some of our patients will struggle to wear them, and we will handle that on  a case by case basis. While we are aware some families prefer to not wear masks, these masks are necessary in the medical environment until the CDC and health department lift those guidelines.

5.  We are doing some telemedicine visits at this time. This may change as the insurance providers pull back on coverage for those. If your child has fever and respiratory symptoms, we will first contact you with telemedicine to reduce spread of COVID in the office. As a practice committed to whole child care, we do prefer in office visits whenever possible because personal, interactive care leads to the best medical outcomes.
